Another completed script.

I have just completed my 12th feature length screenplay. I wrote the last 19 pages tonight. It flies along at a very lean 93 pages. That’s the shortest screenplay I’ve written by far.

It’s an R-rated thriller. Of course it’ll need some re-writes, but I’m very happy with it and I will sell it this year.

By the way, I have a new policy where I won’t really name unsold scripts by name here on the blog. I won’t be able to discuss specific plot or ideas, either. It has to do with the whole “studios and producers want scripts to be completely fresh when they read them” dynamic. So if people want to know storylines, titles, etc, email me personally. I think it stinks because I’d like to be more transparent, but I also need to act professionally.

For those keeping count (which, I know, is just me), I’ve written:

  • 3 comedies,
  • 2 dramas,
  • 3 fantasy adventure dramas,
  • 2 historical dramas, and
  • 2 thrillers

Of those, 1 of the historical dramas (which has fantasy elements and was the first screenplay I wrote) and one of the thrillers (which was like Dexter before there was Dexter, but not nearly as good as Dexter) have no chance of ever being sold. The rest I can see as movies.

I’m especially gratified to be finished tonight, because tomorrow I have to start what is hopefully my last rewrite on the family fantasy film that will be shopped first. The thriller I just completed and the family fantasy  are in such different places in my head that jumping between them is painful.

Then I can actually turn to a much needed rewrite for another family action movie which I’m writing for a UCLA producer. She’s been needing a rewrite but I’ve been telling her my other writing needs to be a priority.

Oh yeah, and then taxes.

And a large amount of iPhone app work.

And…

Time to go to bed.

Based on recent events, probably for the best that you keep your titles to yourself.

    What events?

The title of my latest script is also a foul phrase for something that only pervs like Brett and Snakeman and Paul O know… (and one guy out here at UCLA, too).

But have you looked through Urban Dictionary? EVERY word is a word for something foul!

Brett, Snakeman, Paul O, Collin and Lil John.

Collin did not know it until he heard from you! I’ve been talking about this title for about 2 years now.
