CEC Shorttakes Film Festival

The Electric Chainsaw Massacre didn’t win. But it was actually more of an honor to be a finalist than I had realized – people submitted from all over the country and the films they showed, by and large, were excellent. I was really impressed and entertained and it was nice to be selected to be in that talented group.

Some other cool news – I’m going to a conference in a couple of weeks (I was invited, so my room and board and the conference are all being paid for), and in our screenwriting seminar the writer of Liar Liar is going to use one person’s script for discussion for the week, and it’s down to between my Harriet Tubman script and another script for his selection. That’s cool that he thinks enough of it to spend a week on it – but also, of course, a little nerve-wracking to think about it being dissected by a group of people for an entire week. But I’m ready for that storm.

Man! I was really hoping it would win! Well, I’m glad you got the chance to showcase it, you never know what will come from things like that.
