A very full day of meetings

This is the kind of day that I imagine I will have many of in the future. (I’m not crazy about that sentence, but you know what I mean and it’s late.)

First of all, I had a meeting for one of the writing jobs I will be working on in the next month. It’s pretty exciting actually – a ten million dollar movie that will very likely be shot and released, and I’m doing a rewrite on it. I really liked the producer on the project, and we had a very good discussion about the project. It’s a good deal, too.  A fair amount for the rewrite plus a production bonus should cameras actually roll. The funny thing about the meeting – it was one of those “get a call and the guy says can you meet in 45 minutes and you scramble to get there” meetings.

Then I had a meeting with a very talented, very good friend of mine. We’re going to collaborate on (as of right now) 6 different projects – all of which I’m very excited about. We’re kind of approaching it as a “rock band” of screenwriting, versus a solo artist. We’re even trying to think of a good name under which these projects will be written, like “created by The Luminous Collective.” I’m psyched about these projects, and by this whole idea. The projects we work on together will be very focused on the action / fantasy / graphic novel genres with big worlds and lots of imagination. Good things will come of this.

Then I had a meeting with another talented screenwriting friend of mine who gave me excellent notes on my comedy pilot, which he had read. He also solicited my help on creating an iPhone app.

Plus, as I mentioned before, I got the other writing job at the price I wanted.

It was nice to have a day that made me feel like a real professional.

Were any of your meetings in a hot tub? ;-)

Will you get credit on the movie if it gets released – you know, something to add to your IMDB profile?

    Very cool.

Of course they were held in hot tubs, they aren’t considered meetings if they aren’t.
Yes, I will get the ever important IMDB credits should the films be produced.
