In the Dunking Booth

Today I did something for the first time ever. I was that dude in the dunking booth. I attended a “Free Family Water Day” with my kids, and since many of the other children knew me from camp, there was a groundswell of support for the idea of me being a target.

So, graciously, I agreed.

Somehow I became the “Good Luck Charm” for the whole day because people who hadn’t been able to dunk anyone in the previous 3 hours were dropping me in the water one after another. It was, actually, getting ridiculous.

Good thing I was wearing my wetsuit. (Speaking of ridiculous, according to Darby, who hates how often I like to wear my wetsuit in the water.)

Being dunked it a strange, somewhat fun, somewhat scary experience. And shocking. And lots of water goes up your nose too.

Here’s a picture. This will show you just how quickly you fall into the water. The kid is still in the throwing motion and I’m down in the water. There is no time to even realize you’re falling before boom you’re under the water.

hahahahahahahahaha!!! Love it. And it’s quite funny how much Darby hates the amount that you employ your wet suit, too!
